From reading Chapter 1 "Your In Big Time Now" & Chapter 2 " Where To Find Help" from the book College Rules, I found myself being able to relate to Chapter 1 because while I was in high school...to be honest I didn't do much work. I cut school ,I cut classes,I was very lazy, didn't care what classes I passed and didn't pass....point blank I just did not care. The teachers seemed more concerned about me then I did. The teachers were always chasing after me...Belinda "Did you do this ?" " Did you do that?" The teachers were always like "Did you study for the test?"...I lifted not one finger to study. NOT ME!!!! Oh No.....I had to study??!!!! Let alone do your homework??? The teachers told us what was going to be on the test, gave us the answers and everything. But me I was like "These teachers are asking for a little bit too much." I was always getting by. Just barely passing and then crying for help at the end of the marking period. So what happened? All the work I missed and cutting school, skipping class caught up to me in the end....Going to Saturday school and night school, and a whole extra year in high school. I didn't care until the end.
Now that I am enrolled in TCI ....I can't think "Oh I'm just going to do what I got to do just to get by and pass." Not here!!! I have to read chapters for different classes, study because I have test coming up, and HOMEWORK!!!! What I realized is that t
he teachers in college are not going to baby you and keep up with you as far as you doing the work...I have to keep up with myself. The teachers don't care what you have to do to get the homework done. You as the student are responsible for handing in your work on time. You are not in high school anymore.

From reading Chapter 2 " Where To Find Help" Some of the life adjustments I had to make since enrolling here at TCI include adjusting my school & work schedules but still be able to still earn a decent about of money to maintain my rent and other bills since I am on my own, and I really don't have anyone I can really depend on to help me or call on for help. So deciding whether I wanted to start school was a big decision I had to make. As a new student you have to find your way around and know where to go to to ask for help if you need it. I had to make sure I got all my books for all my classes and keep up with my work. Most importantly ....... getting up on time to be to class early so I am not Late.
